Loughborough University is located in Loughborough, England (with another recently added campus in London), and has a history that goes back as early as 1909. If you choose to pursue the undergraduate Communication and Media Studies degree you have the option to complete your studies in either three years, or four. The four-year program allows you to take one year between your second and final year to either work in a professional environment related to your field, or to study overseas. Regardless of which option you choose, you will be able to study a broad range of subjects related to media and communication. You will also be able to select from a variety of electives to help hone your skills in a particular area of interest. The program was ranked second in the Times Good University Guide (2016), and Loughborough prides itself on the fact that 96% of their students have found work or pursued further studies following graduation. One of the benefits of undergoing the Communication and Media Studies program is that it will equip you not only for a career in journalism, but also provide you with an understanding of other related fields including marketing, advertising, and public relations.
